Lailat al Miraj Lailat al Miraj celebrates the journey of the prophet Mohammed from Mecca to Jerusalem and his subsequent ascension to heaven.  In heaven, Mohammed met with many of the ancient prophets and even with Allah, gaining great spiritual wisdom and the practice of Salat (the duty to pray five times per day), which he brought to the people of earth upon his return.
