Show Off Your Faith Community—An Activity for All Participants

Featuring Dia-Partnership—Display your accomplishments with our Dia-Partnership Exhibit and witness what we as a community have done to enrich Greater Cleveland.  Present your projects from the 2008–2009 year or get creative and display how your faith community puts compassion, community and/or celebration into action. Obtain a free tri-fold display board from InterAct Cleveland.

Send us your photos and videos with captions or information on what you have done for the Greater Cleveland community. These will be made into a Dia-Partnership Video that will be playing continuously at the Annual Showcase for all to see.

Show Us Who, How, and Why—Additional Opportunities for Involvement

Creating Dia-Practice: How do you build an interreligious community at one large event? By creating a variety of opportunities to experience different religious perspectives in a safe, friendly environment.

In addition to all members making a display board, we encourage everyone to work on a Dia-Practice project. On the electronic order form please mark your top three choices for participation in the activities listed below. If you are interested, we may be able to partner your community with another community to share the work and double your learning enjoyment.  After you fill out the electronic form staff members will contact you to answer any questions and provide additional support where needed.

Religious Used-Book Sale: Help staff, support, promote, and run a religious book drive and sale. Find, collect, and sell used books for various age groups on religion, interfaith or related topics.  All proceeds to benefit InterAct Cleveland.

Why do you do that: Teach religious etiquette and formalities within your or other faith traditions. What are the proper terms for leaders? What is the etiquette for entering your place of worship? What should people know as a guest coming to your service?

Cleveland's Religious History: Research and present a section of your religions history, or that of another tradition within Cleveland from its founding to the present day.

Meditation Station: Teach others about meditation techniques in your tradition. Lead a brief meditation practice with other participants at the event, so all can experience some of the richness of your faith.

The Face of Interreligious Cleveland: Be the creative genius of the Annual Showcase by implementing and facilitating a unifying art project. Maybe it’s a quilt? A video time capsule? It’s up to you, the sky’s the limit! But remember to make it something in which everyone can participate.

A Taste of Religious Diversity: Host a taste testing event by presenting and/or making foods particular to your or a different faith (for example: Challa, Noah’s pudding, sweet bread).  Be prepared to explain how and why it is used in that faith.

Talent Exhibit: Does your group have a flair for the dramatic? All groups that sing, dance, or use comedy as a teaching tool are welcome to show off their skills in this project!

Kids’ Zone: Help create an interreligious fun zone for the young ones.  Provide games (with or without religious themes), coloring, a story hour, and other creative activities for kids.
