1.   Professional Staff Affirmation

It is extremely helpful when the head of staff affirm the purpose and significance of InterAct Cleveland. In congregations with multiple staff, an associate and/or business manager may have the primary staff involvement with InterAct Cleveland.

2.   Leadership

A committed core of at least three to five laity are involved with and excited about InterAct Cleveland and serves as advocates for InterAct Cleveland within the congregation. These include the two persons designated Council representatives.

The appropriate board/committee/task force, which oversees community involvement/outreach, understands and affirms the purposes and significance of InterAct Cleveland. It provides opportunities for Council representatives to communicate with the congregation.

3.   Involvement in InterAct Cleveland

InterAct Cleveland expects that a congregation or faith community will  participate in at least one InterAct Cleveland project as a congregation.

Individual members of the congregation participate as individuals in a variety of InterAct Cleveland projects.

Two or more people serve within InterAct Cleveland’s structure: board, council, committee, and/or project team.

4.   Financial Support

The congregation, appropriate to its means, contributes membership dues annually to the core budget of InterAct Cleveland.

In addition, the congregation, appropriate to its specific concerns, contributes to the program budget of InterAct Cleveland.

When possible, the leadership of the congregation identifies congregational members who may be interested in contributing directly to InterAct Cleveland.

5.   Two-way communication

The congregation makes appropriate use of interpretive brochures, bulletin inserts and periodic newsletters that InterAct provides.

The congregation takes advantage of the opportunity to ask an InterAct staff member and/or Board or Council member to attend or participate in a worship service and/or board or committee meeting.

Questions, concerns and suggestions are regularly shared with InterAct staff or Board members.
