Calling all amateur photographers and memory capturers! This summer we at InterAct Cleveland encourage you to make memories and to take many, many photos. Especially photos of religious ceremonies, like baptisms or Pratishtha Mahotsavs, or moments that pluck a spiritual chord in your heart.
Why are we holding a photo bonanza? Religion is alive! But the stark reality is that it’s difficult for those who are not deeply involved in religious life to comprehend how real and integral religion can be. So let’s show them! How do you feel the fullness of your faith? How has the Divine warmed your summer? What has moved you to feel gratitude for the blessings that have surrounded you? Make some lasting memories this summer and help us enlighten others, too.
There are two ways you can send us your photos. Share your photos with us on Facebook (InterAct Cleveland) or by sending them via e-mail to us at
If you have time please explain what is happening in the photo and why it is significant. PS: The photos above are from St. Basil the Great. We will upload our community’s photos in August, so send your photos in today!
I want to draw a very counterintuitive comparison here. “What’s your bag?” Paper, plastic, fiber, with or without logo, with or without insulation?Of course the question refers to grocery bags and the mounting awareness that by using non–recyclable bags made from fiber or cloth we can reduce our carbon footprint. Good idea, no? This leads me to my next point – containers, not food this time, but your preferred media for news and interreligious articles.
We at InterAct Cleveland are becoming much more intentional about the choices we make and their impact on our planet. Each quarter we mail out nearly 1,200 print newsletters to individuals and organizational members of InterAct Cleveland. We also offer an e-newsletter option for those who wish, HERE . Every now and then we like to get a sense from our readership if there are any changes in those preferences. Communicating with you is one of our highest priorities. And we are very aware of the range of preferences among people from the Kindle to the I-can-hold-it-in-my -hands carbon rich paper.
Please help us by taking a few minutes to let us know if your preference has changed regarding your receipt of our newsletters: US Postal Service sent paper or Internet sent e-letters. Choices are important, please choose freely, but do choose! E-mail
to tell us if there’s a change! Or read the Summer E-Newsletter here .
Help InterAct Cleveland out this summer season by supporting our No Bake Bake Sale. You are invited to NOT bake cookies, cupcakes, or brownies. You do NOT have to shop for the ingredients. You do NOT have to wash dishes. You do NOT have to deliver the baked product.
Instead you are invited to write a check for $10+ to InterAct Cleveland or donate online here before reading more about the tasty treats found within many of the religious traditions in the Greater Cleveland interreligious community. And for those who are hungry for more please join us on Tuesday, July 27 at 7 pm at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (2747 Fairmount Boulevard, Cleveland,44106-3696) for sampling of food and thoughts in “A Taste that is Divine.”More details here.
